The Port of Barcelona has registered the best semester in its history in relation with the total traffic. In 2017,   Barcelona was the European port with most growth , amount that has consolidated this year to funnel a total of 33,8 millions of tons of goods -a 17,8% more than the period last year-.

As per the movement of passengers, the Port of Barcelona has received a total of 1,78 millions of users of ferrys and cruises during the first semester of the year (+13%). The passengers of the ferrys that connect the Port with the Balearic islands, Italy and North Africa have been stable with regards to last year  ones.

The cruise passengers have increased a 20% if the main increase has been produced in the passngers with a base port (those who initiate and finish its itinerary in Barcelona), the passengers have increased a 20% , however the passengers has been produced in the base port (those who initiate and finish its itinerary in Barcelona) are those who do a major economical review, to its city and its environment (+29%)

Economical results of the Port de Barcelona in the first trimester of 2018

During the first semester of the year,the Port de Barcelona has registered  a number of 86,6 millions of euros, with an increment of 7,3% with with and incrase for the same period of 2017. The net benefit of the 6 first months of the year has beeen situated in 27,6 millions of euros a 26,6% more. As per the generation of resources the 6 first months  of the year and it was situated in 27,6 millions of euros a 26,6% more. As  per the generation of resources, the operative of  the semester sums up a 49,8 millions of euros, amount that it is the increase of 11,7%

Likewise, thanks precisely to the capacity of generating own resources, the Port of Barcelona has reduced a significative part of the the long term debt that maintains with the BEI . This is after amortizing 22,8 millions of euros, the debt of the Port of  Barcelona it is situated in 281,1 millions of euros.
